GD Green Renovation Standards, Tiers & Review Process

Every indicator is fully public and transparent. We use scientific data, material-emission standards, and on-site sampling to provide a verifiable, actionable assessment framework for healthy buildings.

TRIPLE VERIFICATION

Triple independent verification for objectivity

Certification is never granted from a single paper review. GGCb combines document audit, national-accredited lab testing, and cross-university committee reviews — layered scrutiny at every stage.

Layer 1 · Blind design & material audit

De-identified review of "airflow & ventilation path modeling" and "green-material low-emission label list" — hazardous materials are blocked at source before construction.

Layer 2 · TAF laboratory on-site testing

Post-completion, TAF-accredited (Taiwan Accreditation Foundation) labs bring calibrated instruments on-site to measure formaldehyde, TVOC, and particulate levels.

Layer 3 · Cross-university committee

A committee of architecture, environmental engineering, and medical professors — with a strict conflict-of-interest policy — determines the final tier and grants certification.

CERTIFICATION TIERS

GD Green Renovation · 4-Tier Award Standards

Four certification tiers, assessed on planning & design, low-emission material usage, site management, and on-site air-quality data.

GD Certified Platinum PLATINUM
Premium healthy space
  • • Green material usage ≥ 75%
  • • Ventilation ≥ 1.5 ACH
  • • Formaldehyde < 0.03 ppm
  • • HRV or air-purification system required
GD Certified Gold GOLD
Recommended premium
  • • Green material usage ≥ 65%
  • • Effective natural airflow paths
  • • Formaldehyde < 0.08 ppm
  • • Water-based, non-toxic paints throughout
GD Certified Silver SILVER
Healthy space baseline
  • • Green material usage ≥ 55%
  • • Basic ventilation & daylight ratios met
  • • Air quality meets national code
  • • Full secondary-pollution prevention during construction
GD Certified Bronze BRONZE
Baseline improvement
  • • Green material usage ≥ 45%
  • • Health improvements in specific functional zones
  • • No heavy metals, asbestos, or hazardous materials
  • • Suitable for partial renovation of older homes
DETAILED CRITERIA

40 Indicators · General + P / M / D / C

Click each indicator to expand its inspection points and required documents.

General

General Requirements (4 items)

Check points: At least one green designer on the project must have completed GD training, passed the exam and hold a valid certificate.
Required documents: Copy of a valid green designer certificate.

Check points: Application and review documents are exchanged electronically to reduce paper.
Required documents: Signed e-transfer declaration with date.

Check points: Renovation payments go through a trust mechanism to protect both owner and contractor.
Required documents: Signed renovation-trust declaration with date.

Check points: Record electricity meter readings during construction for the project carbon inventory.
Required documents: Meter readings and reading dates.
Phase P

Phase 1 · Planning & Design Indicators (9 items)

Inspection: Must include an inlet/outlet airflow diagram and floor-plan opening-ratio calculations to ensure continuous air circulation.
Required documents: Ventilation blueprint (CAD/PDF), air-exchange rate calculation sheet.

Inspection: HRV ductwork must avoid dead zones and short-cycling; supply and return vents must be ≥ 1.5 m apart.
Required documents: MEP layout, equipment manufacturer's spec sheets.

Inspection: Main hallways ≥ 90 cm clear width; step-free thresholds for bathrooms and living spaces.
Required documents: Floor elevation plan, door & window dimensions.
Phase M

Phase 2 · Material Application & Source Protection (10 items)

Inspection: Interior walls and ceilings must use low-VOC or zero-VOC water-based paints; no oil-based thinners or benzene solvents allowed.
Required documents: Paint delivery certificate, Ministry of the Interior Green Material Label.

Inspection: Wood glue, silicone, and floor-tile adhesives must meet low-formaldehyde emission standards.
Required documents: On-site material inspection photos, SGS or TAF test report.

Inspection: Green materials must cover ≥ 60% of residential interior surface, or ≥ 70% for commercial spaces.
Required documents: Green-material calculation sheet, purchase invoices & delivery notes.
Phase D

Phase 3 · Site Safety & Management (9 items)

Inspection: No-smoking signage on-site and strict compliance by all workers, avoiding second-hand and third-hand smoke residue on walls.
Required documents: Site signage photos, daily inspection log.

Inspection: Cutting machines must have dust collectors; strict dust barriers between working and non-working zones.
Required documents: On-site dust-extraction photos, dust-barrier setup records.
Phase C

Phase 4 · Post-Completion Testing (8 items)

Inspection: After 24 hours of sealed conditions, a third-party accredited lab samples the living room and main bedroom; certification issued only if measurements pass.
Required documents: Sampling photos, real-time instrument test report.

Inspection: After approval, a digital certificate and QR-code record are created; a physical metal plaque and original certificate are issued.
Required documents: Official certificate (3-year validity), certified-space registration confirmation.
