Frequently asked questions
Q1What documents are required for GD certification?
Typically: application form, design drawings, material specifications, construction records with photos, and site basic info. See the standards documents and application templates for details.
Q2How long does the certification process take?
Usually 8–12 weeks, depending on site scale, testing scope, and correction cycles.
Q3Will testing disrupt operations?
TAF-accredited testing is performed after completion and before operations begin, so it typically does not affect subsequent operations.
Q4How long is the certificate valid?
GD certificates are valid for 3 years, with an annual follow-up. Renewal may be applied within 6 months prior to expiry.
Q5What if I disagree with the certification result?
You may file a written appeal within 30 days. GGCb will convene a review panel per the Appeals & Disputes Handling Procedure and respond with the outcome.
